Residential FAQs

In order to refill the tank quickly, follow the steps below:

(a) Continue using the machine until the refill water light comes on. This will shut off the heating elements.

(b) Once this light has come on, continue using the machine until the pressure gauge shows that there is no pressure what so ever left in the boiler. This usually takes a minute or two.

(c) Slowly unscrew the safety cap and wait 3-4 minutes to allow the generator to cool down before refilling the tank with hot water.

There are 2 possible reasons for this.

(a) There is too much water in the boiler. The maximum working capacity of the boilers found in the D30 and D40 are 1.5 liters and 1.7 liters respectively. For best results, we recommend that you fill the boiler in the D30 with only 1.3 liter of water, or 1.5 liters in the case of the D40. This allows room for the water to convert to vapor.

(b) The warm-up process may not be complete. It generally takes 10 to 15 minutes for the initial warm-up. The vapor ready light (indicated by the vapor cloud) will switch on. Press the switch on the hand gun for 3-4 seconds to expel any air in the system. The generator switch light will turn off again. When this light goes on for the second time, your machine is ready for use.

NOTE: The vapor ready light will turn on and off as you work. This is completely normal, as the light indicates that your heating elements are turning on and off.

You may be spraying the vapor too close to the glass surface. It is best to spray the glass from a distance of 5 to 10 cm. Then, without applying more vapor, use the squeegee tool on the window to wipe it clean.

Choosing the correct amount of vapor will prevent damage to delicate surfaces and allow maximum cleaning power to help you cut through dirt. Follow the guidelines below:

– High Volume: for hard resistant surfaces

– Medium Volume: for cleaning clothes

– Medium-Low Volume: for glass and mirrors

– Low Volume: for cleaning delicate surfaces including fabric, wood and wall-paper

NOTE: Follow the Application Guide, found in resources, for all surfaces found around the home.

***** IMPORTANT *****

Caution : Some surfaces are very heat sensitive. Always keep a safe distance (from 4″ to 6″) when using the vapor on leather, silk, velvet and vinyl. Then wipe with a soft cloth.

Use the checklist below to determine if your machine is in good working order:

-Is the machine plugged into a working socket?

-Is the main power switch turned to ON (it is lit up)?

-Is the vapor regulator open to allow the vapor to come out? (This control must be turned counter clockwise to increase the vapor flow)

-Has the vapor hose been properly installed?

There are 2 possible reasons.

(a) The water level in your boiler may be low. Check to see if your refill water light is switched on. If it is refer to question #1.

(b) If the tank has been just refilled, the warm-up process may not be complete. Refer to question #2b.

(a) The boiler must be rinsed out regularly. This flushes away the scale build-up left in the generator. To maintain optimal performance in domestic use, it is best to empty and flush out the tank once or twice each month (depending on the amount of use).

To properly flush the tank, refer to your instruction manual as this varies depending on the model that you have chosen. Never turn your machine upside down to empty it.

Caution : Never put vinegar, bleach, CLR or any other products into the water tank.

(b) From time to time, lubricate the ‘o rings’ (rubber washers) with petroleum jelly or vegetable oil. If necessary, replace the washers with spares that are provided.

This ensures maximum safety and efficiency. Below 45 psi, there would be inadequate pressure to properly clean and sanitize. Above 60 psi, the amount of vapor power could be potentially hazardous to the user.

Chemicals cannot be added directly into the tank. In order to enhance the cleaning power of your machine or perhaps to remove stubborn spots, a few drops of detergent may be introduced directly on the stain.

Adding a fragrance to the already fresh, clean smell you get by cleaning with your machine is a breeze. Simply apply a few drops of your favorite scent (essential oils) directly onto the cotton towel that you have attached to the brush.

Unlike a vacuum cleaner, which merely picks up loose dirt, your machine is a powerful cleaning system that uses heat, moisture, pressure and friction to completely remove dirt and at the same time sanitize and disinfect, all in one easy step. Using a cotton towel while cleaning will absorb the loosened dirt like a sponge.

It has been scientifically proven that vapour under pressure at high temperature (known as “super vapour”) kills germs, bacteria and dust mites. Have a look at your Bacteria & Viruses section, under Resources to learn more.
